Safety Guidelines
Most people here are exactly who they say they are. These are the habits that protect you from the few who are not.
The one rule that never changes
Never send money to somebody you met online. Not for a hospital bill, not for customs, not for a visa, not for an investment, not for anything.
Every one of those stories is designed to be the exception you make. That is what makes it work.
Signs of a romance scam
They fall in love very fast, before you have really met.
They want to move to WhatsApp or Telegram almost immediately.
They always have a reason not to do a video call.
They mention forex, crypto, trading or an opportunity they can bring you into.
There is a sudden emergency, and only you can help.
Their photographs look like a model’s, or a search finds them on somebody else’s profile.
Before you meet
Have a video call first. It is the single most effective check there is.
Search their photographs online.
Meet in a public place, in daylight, the first few times.
Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who with, and share your live location with them.
Arrange your own transport, both ways. Do not let anybody collect you from home.
Do not let them know where you live until you are certain.
While you are there
Watch your own drink.
Stay sober enough to make decisions.
If anything feels wrong, leave. You do not owe anybody an explanation or a polite ending.
Protecting your information
Never share a password, a one-time code, a BVN or your bank details. No genuine person will ask, and Kingdom Pair never will.
Be careful with photographs that show your street, your car number plate, your workplace or your church name.
Keep conversations in the app until you trust somebody. We cannot see or act on what happens elsewhere.
If something goes wrong
Report the profile in the app. Reports go to a person and we never say who reported.
Block them, which ends contact both ways.
If you have lost money or been threatened, report it to the police, and to the EFCC on 0809 932 6229 for financial fraud.
